HealthcareData ManagementDigital Transformation

Overview

A data management system developed for the cardiology department at QKUK hospital, designed to digitize and replace current Excel-based workflows with a modern, efficient solution.

The Problem

The cardiology department was relying on Excel spreadsheets for managing patient data, appointments, and diagnostic records. This manual approach was error-prone, difficult to search, and couldn't scale with the department's growing needs.

Features

  • Patient Records — centralized digital storage for patient information
  • Appointment Tracking — schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently
  • Diagnostics History — track and review diagnostic results over time
  • Clinical Workflows — designed in collaboration with healthcare professionals to match real-world processes

Collaboration

Worked directly with healthcare professionals at QKUK hospital to understand their clinical and administrative requirements. This ensured the system addressed real pain points and integrated smoothly into existing workflows.

What I Learned

This project taught me the importance of domain-specific requirements gathering. Healthcare systems have strict data handling needs and workflow patterns that differ significantly from typical software projects. Understanding the end users' daily processes was critical to building something genuinely useful.
